Artificial Brain have been crafting visceral, space-inflected death metal for over a decade, navigating multiple lineup shifts along the way. Originally an international act rooted in New York, the band has relocated to Richmond, Virginia — a hub for heavy underground music. The current lineup features Inter Arma vocalist Mike Paparo and Battlemaster drummer Alex Tomlin. Today they announce their upcoming album, Antillia.
Antillia arrives following the band’s acclaimed 2022 self-titled release. Vocalist Mike Paparo and guitarist Dan Garguilo also front Dreamless Veil, whose 2024 album Every Limb Of The Flood further showcases their range. Antillia features guest contributions from Miasmatic Necrosis’ Paulo Pangutalan, Aeviterne’s Ian Jacyszyn, and Stereogum contributor Doug Moore. Among the tracks is “Deciphering The Anachronistic Tongues Of The Relic Satellites,” a title as striking as the music itself. The lead single, “Quantum Malignancies,” delivers a compact yet devastating sonic assault.
