Sean Sprecher releases music as Bad History Month, both through original songs and covers. Now, he is sharing a fundraising EP after being shot in the calf.
First, he said he is okay and expects to heal quickly. Second, through what he described as a time/space error, he ended up in front of a bullet that went through his calf. He said he was fine and felt lucky, describing it as an easy-mode version of getting shot.
He said he is working on establishing evidence of his income as a musician so he can potentially qualify for victim relief or workers’ compensation. He asked fans to contribute $5 to the EP if they wished to do so, and said more details would come later. He said he wanted to release the music for the Bandcamp Friday tax holiday.
The music is a folk version of the last two songs on Dead And Loving It, which he had performed for years without recording. The two “platinum” versions include assistance, he said, for versions he felt were more elaborately produced. He said he would continue with the project when he was feeling better.
The four songs are intimate and worthwhile.
