The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule for the upcoming two‑match Test series against West Indies. The series will begin on 28 October at the Sher‑e‑Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur before the teams move to Sylhet for the second and final Test from 5 November.

The series forms part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. Bangladesh currently sit fourth in the WTC standings. The Tigers recently drew their two‑match series in Australia 1–1 and have recorded three wins from six Tests in the present cycle, along with one draw and two defeats.

Bangladesh to host West Indies in two Tests

The first Test will be played at the Sher‑e‑Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur from 28 October to 1 November. The second Test will then be held in Sylhet from 5 to 9 November.

Bangladesh have made a solid start to the current WTC cycle, securing a 2‑0 home series win over Pakistan and a 1‑0 away series win against Sri Lanka. Their recent draw in Australia included Bangladesh’s first ever Test win on Australian soil.

West Indies look to improve WTC record

West Indies currently occupy eighth place in the nine‑team WTC standings, with only Pakistan below them. The Caribbean side have managed just two wins from 12 Tests in the current cycle, while suffering eight defeats and drawing twice.

They finally secured their first victory against Sri Lanka in a 1‑0 home series win and most recently drew 1–1 against Pakistan. The touring side will also play a three‑day warm‑up match from 22 October ahead of the Bangladesh series.
