Christian Falk has confirmed that Barcelona have made contact with Harry Kane’s representatives.

In his latest CF Bayern Insider column, Falk indicated that the German champions have received concrete interest from Barcelona for the striker. However, Falk suggests that a stay at Bayern is more probable.

Kane is currently one of the world’s most lethal forwards, scoring 146 goals in 147 appearances for Bayern, including 61 strikes in the most recent season.

Barcelona, who have recently released Robert Lewandowski, would welcome a talent of Kane’s calibre. Nonetheless, Bayern’s firm stance means any transfer would be highly unlikely.

Christian Falk on Harry Kane’s future

Falk, a well‑connected source for German football, believes that Kane has no intention of leaving Bayern. He says new contract negotiations are likely to resolve any speculation.

“It is true: Harry Kane’s representatives were contacted by Barcelona,” Falk wrote. “This was confirmed to me.

“But I also heard that Barcelona have no chance of signing Kane from Bayern Munich. He wants to stay in Munich and sign a new contract.

“However, he does not want to discuss a move at this moment while he is still competing in the World Cup with England.

“Regardless, Kane simply wants to negotiate with Bayern Munich, and I think they will find a solution.”

Harry Kane’s rise is a loss for the Premier League

There is a desire to see Kane return to the Premier League, but that prospect appears distant. The signs point to him remaining at the Allianz Arena, with Barcelona likely to remain in the background as potential suitors.

It is difficult to envision Kane moving to any English club other than his former team Tottenham, but Spurs are unlikely to be able to meet Bayern’s valuation at present. If Tottenham were still offering Champions League football and a realistic chance of silverware, the situation could change. However, they currently appear far from that reality.

Kane’s strong connections to Tottenham make an Arsenal move unlikely, while Manchester City already have Erling Haaland. Liverpool and Manchester United could be considered, but both face challenges that may not assure Kane of sufficient competitive guarantee.

It is a shame, however, as the 32‑year‑old is playing at the peak of his career and could still realistically challenge Alan Shearer’s Premier League scoring record.

Kane left England with 213 league goals. Had he remained and scored at the same rate as with Bayern, he would now be on 311 Premier League goals—well ahead of Shearer’s tally.
