BBC Radio 1 has announced an exciting lineup for its upcoming Live Lounge month this October, bringing together some of the biggest names in the music industry. Sam Smith, Chase & Status, and Jorja Smith are set to headline the series of exclusive acoustic performances.

The prestigious sessions will also feature indie band Blossoms, singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri, and US rap duo Anderson .Paak and Cordae, who will all take to the studio throughout the month.

Each artist traditionally performs an acoustic version of one of their own songs, alongside a cover of a track by a different musician, offering unique and stripped-down renditions.

The Live Lounge show will be hosted by Charlie Hedges and Jeremiah Asiamah, with new episodes airing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at midday.

The performance lineup kicks off on October 5th with the Stockport-formed indie band Blossoms, setting the stage for the rest of the month.

Other notable acts joining the roster include rock band Nothing But Thieves, rising US star Stella Lefty, Brit-nominated singer Beabadoobee, and London-based artist Odeal.

Brighton rock duo Royal Blood will close out the October sessions on the 30th, preceded by a highly anticipated surprise guest performance yet to be announced.

Jorja Smith is set to appear following the release of her third album, *What Are The Odds*, which has been met with widespread critical acclaim, including praise from Rolling Stone UK, which called it her “best album yet.”

Electronic music heavyweights Chase & Status will perform after their recent triumph headlining the Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Oscar-winner Sam Smith will also take the stage, showcasing material from their fifth studio album, *Hazel Eyes*, released recently.
