Rock Icons Unveil 2027 Asia-Pacific Tour Residency

At the Summer Sonic festival in Japan, a teaser displaying the words “Tokyo 2027” alongside vintage Radiohead footage appeared during a mid-set break. The following week, billboards reading “Radiohead 2027” emerged around Tokyo’s Miyashita Park. The specifics of the band’s plans for the upcoming year were tightly kept under wraps—until now. Today, Radiohead officially announced a 2027 residency encompassing Japan and Australia. The itinerary will take them through Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, before concluding in Saitama, Japan, for a total of 21 shows. Tokyo dates remain unconfirmed at this time. This upcoming residency follows Radiohead’s 2025 European tour, which represented their first proper dates since 2018. The band launched the tour shortly after releasing their second live album, Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009). Guitarist Ed O’Brien recently discussed the band’s future touring plans with Rolling Stone, stating, “Every year we’re going to do a different continent, and we’re going to do 20 shows each year. No more, no less.” (It appears the final count slightly exceeded that projection.)

Over the past year, the band’s camp has been highly active: they debuted a traveling Kid A Mnesia installation at Coachella, announced a London premiere for their Shakespeare rework Hamlet Hail to the Thief, and shared critical remarks regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Furthermore, O’Brien released his solo album, Blue Morpho, in May.
