The St. Louis Blues featured in just two games this week, blanking the Dallas Stars on Friday before falling to the Colorado Avalanche in a tight contest on Saturday. Despite the brief slate, several players delivered standout performances worth highlighting.

Here are the Blues’ standouts from the week.

Standout #3: Pius Suter

Pius Suter began his second campaign with the Blues on a positive note Friday. Working the fourth line, the Swiss forward intercepted the puck behind the net, destabilizing Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger. He quickly set up Philip Broberg, who found Dalibor Dvorsky for the goal. Suter later added an empty-net marker.

A versatile forward capable of centering or winging anywhere in the lineup, Suter contributed offensively on Friday. Saturday was less productive (minus-1, no shots), but he remains a player to watch among the Blues’ forwards.

Standout #2: Dalibor Dvorsky

Dalibor Dvorsky represents the organization’s youth movement. The 2023 first-round pick scored 12 goals in 71 games last season and has gotten off to a strong start in 2026-27. He capitalized on Suter’s play Friday and tallied the Blues’ lone goal Saturday.

Dvorsky’s faceoff performance deserves mention. He won 40% of his draws across both games. The Blues entrusted him to center the third line to start the season, choosing him over moving Suter to the spot or shifting Dvorsky to the wing. Whether the Slovakian can improve at the dot remains to be seen.

At his current pace, Dvorsky is tracking toward 84 goals. If he maintains that output, his faceoff numbers will likely draw less scrutiny.

Standout #1: Joel Hofer

Last season’s Blues MVP continues to cement himself as the organization’s new top goaltender. Joel Hofer became the first St. Louis goalie besides Jordan Binnington to start a season opener since 2018 (Jake Allen). Against a potent Stars attack, he recorded a 25-save shutout—his first of the season. Having tied for second-most shutouts in the NHL last year, Hofer is off to a strong start as he aims to repeat and surpass that success.

Hofer also displayed his puck-handling abilities, making multiple plays and earning an assist on Suter’s goal. For the moment, he sits tied for the team lead in helpers. While those numbers will likely shift, it is worth noting he has generated more goals than he has allowed. Hofer appears ready to embrace the starting role and solidify himself as the organization’s goaltender of the future.

The Week Ahead

The Blues will play three games next week. They will finish their road trip Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, then host their first games of the season, welcoming Macklin Celebrini and the San Jose Sharks to the Enterprise Center on Thursday.
