Video captured an Iranian passenger flight descending into chaos Tuesday after sudden, violent shaking appeared to damage the aircraft’s cabin, sending overhead compartments and ceiling panels crashing onto passengers.
The incident involved a Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 flying from Mashhad to Kermanshah over Iran, according to Jam Press.
The outlet reported that the aircraft may have suffered engine damage and a tire blowout during takeoff.
During the incident, the cabin appeared to break apart as ceiling panels and debris from damaged bins fell onto travelers. Passengers could be heard screaming and praying while shielding themselves from the falling debris.

The pilot reportedly declared an emergency and attempted to return to Mashhad Hashemi Nejad International Airport.
The aircraft landed safely, Jam Press reported, citing NeedToKnow. No injuries were reported among the 127 passengers and crew aboard.

The incident caused the temporary closure of one of the airport’s two runways.
Reports said an investigation into the incident was underway.
Passengers were reportedly placed on another flight to complete their journey.
