Bolivia detained its attorney general late Wednesday, following U.S. accusations that he solicited and accepted bribes linked to drug trafficking.
Acting in the dead of night, authorities dismantled what they described as a criminal network, arresting 14 individuals, according to Interior Minister Marco Antonio Oviedo. Four suspects were caught attempting to remove stacks of cash from the attorney general’s residence and load them into an ambulance, Oviedo said.
