Gardner Minshew secured the starting quarterback position by leading the Arizona Cardinals to a victory over Dallas on Sunday.

Coach Mike LaFleur has selected Minshew as the starter for Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks, sidelining Jacoby Brissett, who was replaced in the second half while Arizona trailed 17-3.

The Cardinals, now 3-5, prevailed 33-30 in overtime, fueled by three touchdown passes from Minshew.

“Going forward, we will keep Gardner as our starter,” LaFleur said, adding that he has consulted with all three quarterbacks.

Minshew ignited a rally with four straight touchdown drives, but a missed extra point with six seconds left forced the game into overtime.

Carson Beck was promoted to the second‑string quarterback role, while Brissett was placed on the emergency roster for Seattle next week.

“He simply played the quarterback position,” LaFleur said Monday. “He executed what was asked of him and was accurate with the ball.”

Seattle, now 4-3, will face the Chicago Bears on Monday. The Seahawks previously beat the Cardinals 31-7 in Week 2 in Arizona, when backup quarterback Drew Lock started in place of Sam Darnold.
