Alex Scott is understood to have secured a “gentleman’s agreement” allowing him to leave Bournemouth during the upcoming January transfer window, as speculation links him with Chelsea.

Chelsea have been on the lookout for midfield reinforcements and, as previously reported, Scott is a target alongside Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.

The Blues now appear to have a viable opportunity to secure Scott in January, despite Bournemouth’s earlier stance of holding out for a summer deal.

Indy Kaila reported on X that the England midfielder has an informal agreement that could facilitate a mid‑season departure from Bournemouth.

The X account summarised the situation: “Rumours are flying around London that Alex Scott has a gentleman’s agreement to leave in January.”

Alex Scott’s Chelsea Transfer Could Happen Earlier Than Expected

The development is encouraging for Chelsea and could attract attention from other leading clubs monitoring his availability.

At 23, Scott is regarded as a talented prospect, and his departure is expected to generate a notable return on Bournemouth’s £25 million investment.

Chelsea could benefit from reinforcing the midfield with a player of Scott’s calibre, especially given their difficulty in replacing Enzo Fernández after his recent move to Manchester City.

While new manager Xabi Alonso has had a mixed start at Stamford Bridge, the addition of a player such as Scott could provide the midfield with an extra dimension.
