CM Punk has once again found himself embroiled in a backstage incident, this time within the WWE organization.
The Undisputed WWE Champion, known for his history of backstage confrontations, previously faced notable disputes during his tenure with AEW. These included a heated exchange following his All Out post-show media scrum involving Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, which led to multiple suspensions. Additionally, Punk was involved in another confrontation with Jack Perry regarding the use of real glass, later revealed publicly by AEW President Tony Khan.
Since his return to WWE in 2023, Punk’s storyline has largely avoided such controversies. He has rebuilt several key relationships within the company and captured three World Championships. Recently, during an NXT live event, Punk was powerbombed by a female WWE star, leading to a subsequent backstage altercation with Toxic Attraction’s Waller. Footage showed the exchange intensifying, with Waller asserting ownership of NXT and threatening Punk’s championship reign.
The confrontation escalated until security intervened, after which Waller departed the area. Notably, WWE initially shared footage of the incident on social media before removing it, prompting speculation about premature release or content suppression.
This development appears to be a storyline designed to unfold on future NXT programming.
