Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced revives the crafting and upgrade mechanics first seen in the series’ early titles, closely mirroring those from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag with only minor tweaks that veteran players will need to adjust to. Although the core systems stay the same, the resources required to enhance Edward Kenway’s equipment have been rearranged significantly compared to the original.

Even without an expanded map, Black Flag Resynced offers a vast world that makes locating every huntable animal across its many islands a challenge. A little preparation—knowing where to find each creature and gathering materials in advance—can save you considerable time and frustration later.

While you can hunt each animal as you progress through Black Flag Resynced and its upgrade path, several creatures are gated behind story progress early in the game. Nevertheless, gathering the necessary materials ahead of time—especially before unlocking the dart and pistol upgrades—lets you avoid delays and reach full potency sooner.

The following list details every required material and notes several spawn locations for each huntable animal. The most accessible spots—or those shared by multiple species—are highlighted in bold for quick reference.

How To Farm Huntable Animals In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resycned

Black Flag Resynced provides useful icons on each island indicating which animals appear and where, but you won’t always collect every needed material in a single outing. If you require more than what’s available, or if you scare away some of the shyer wildlife, there’s a straightforward method to respawn them.

Resetting animal spawns is simple: fast travel to a different location, then return to the original hunting area. A notable improvement over the original Black Flag is the removal of loading screens when transitioning between your ship and islands, which streamlines the process—especially when the animals spawn near the shore.

Occasionally, a spot may not respawn after fast traveling; in such cases, try hunting elsewhere before returning to reset the original location.

You can employ this technique on any island, but focusing on major hubs such as Nassau, Havana, Great Inagua, Tulum, and Kingston is most efficient. These locations host multiple animal spawns, allowing you to gather all required materials with far fewer trips than visiting smaller islands one at a time.

Although selling surplus animal pelts after completing Edward’s upgrades may seem appealing, several shop items demand a specific quantity of hides in addition to gold. It’s wise to retain any extra skins until you’re certain they won’t be needed for future purchases.

Where To Buy Animal Hides In Black Flag Resycned

Animal hides aren’t obtained solely through hunting; you can also acquire them by trading bones at a general store. Each land animal slain yields one bone, which can be exchanged for pelts—typically three to five bones per hide, depending on the animal’s rarity.

Initially, only a modest selection of pelts is available for purchase. To unlock the full inventory, you must upgrade the general store in Great Inagua. Each upgrade expands the offerings, and at level three the store stocks every exotic material in the game.

Upgrading the fisherman’s Wharf at Great Inagua will double the amount of skins gathered from sea animals.

Although trading bones may appear simpler than hunting every animal, it isn’t advisable to rely on it as your main source for upgrading Edward’s gear. Bones are scarce and better spent on rare ship items; notably, the skeletal crew armor makes a return in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, costing a substantial 100 bones.
