Corn futures closed Wednesday’s session with prices slipping 3 to 5 ¾ cents, reaching near session lows. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price dropped 5 3/4 cents to $4.81 per bushel.
USDA reported a private export sale of 182,880 metric tons of corn to Mexico for 2026/27 delivery.
This week’s Crop Progress report indicated condition ratings declined by 1 percentage point to 46% rated good to excellent, as the Brugler500 index remained steady at 347. Ratings decreased in Illinois (-3), Iowa (-1), Kansas (-8), Minnesota (-6), Missouri (-9), Nebraska (-3), North Dakota (-11), and Wisconsin (-1), while improvements were noted in Colorado (+17), Kentucky (+13), Michigan (+4), Ohio (+3), and South Dakota (+13).
A Bloomberg survey of traders shows expectations for USDA to reduce soybean yield on Friday by an average of 2.6 bushels per acre, to an average of 178.1 bushels per acre. Production is projected to drop 236 million bushels from August to 15.777 billion bushels.
Weekly EIA data will be delayed until Thursday due to the Monday holiday, with the Export Sales report scheduled for Friday.
Argentina’s 2026/27 crop is estimated between 67.5 to 70.5 million metric tons, according to the Rosario Grains Exchange, up from the previous 66 million metric ton estimate.
