Davey has mainly played scrum‑half for Wales and now contests for spots against Kira Bevan and Seren Lockwood.
Contrary to the typical image of this role, the group enjoys smooth camaraderie without any intimidation.
“We all really enjoy each other’s company. We want each other to do well, so there’s never that hatred towards each other,” said Davey, who has previously started at fly-half for Loughborough.
“Whatever steps forward and delivers flawless performance claims the top slot for the team, requiring decisive backing.”
Wales kick off their WXV tournament with a home clash against South Africa at the Cardiff Arms Park on Friday, 18 September at 19:15 BST; any chance of playing would mean the world to Davey.
