Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane saw his penalty rattle the crossbar, and Fabio Silva capitalized with a late equalizer as Borussia Dortmund secured a 2-2 draw in Der Klassiker.
It marked Kane’s first match since capturing the Ballon d’Or, with the forward receiving a pre-match tribute in Munich and walking out separately from his teammates. However, the second half unfolded as a Halloween nightmare for the England captain.
Bayern had taken the lead through Konrad Laimer before Kane’s spot-kick struck the woodwork. Serhou Guirassy then leveled for Dortmund after dispossessing the Bayern striker in the buildup. Kane’s assist for Dayot Upamecano’s go-ahead goal ultimately proved insufficient.

Silva entered from the bench to level matters for Niko Kovac’s side in the 89th minute. Although Lennart Karl struck the crossbar with the final kick of a dramatic contest, Dortmund held on to remain level on points with Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Another Englishman, Jobe Bellingham, appeared to open the scoring following a defensive mix-up involving Upamecano, but the effort was disallowed after VAR determined Carney Chukwuemeka had collided with the goalkeeper as Bellingham finished.
Bayern, averaging more than five goals per home game this season, immediately capitalized when Michael Olise—who had earlier hit the post—found Laimer, and the Austrian converted on the second attempt.
Dortmund’s equalizer came as a surprise given Bayern’s control, but clever work from Guirassy created the opening and left Kane anxious. Though the Bayern number 9 thought he had redeemed himself with a decisive assist, Silva’s late intervention ensured a forgettable night.

Bayern faces a congested fixture list while operating without recovering head coach Vincent Kompany and an expanding injury list. Luis Diaz was already unavailable, and Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry both went off injured in the first half.
While simply extending their unbeaten run may offer some consolation, the result represented a missed chance to separate from their arch-rivals. Silva’s strike, aided by Kane’s uncharacteristic miss, leaves the two sides’ records identical.
