Organizers of the Esports World Cup 2026 confirmed Tuesday that the event will culminate in the inaugural $2 million Counter-Strike 2 championship final. The competition will take place at the Accor Arena in Paris, a venue renowned for hosting the concluding CS:GO Major in 2023.
The 32-team CS2 tournament will bring together 28 of the highest-ranked teams globally, based on Valve’s Region Standings. The remaining four spots will be filled by winners from a 128-team open qualifier, scheduled to hold in Paris from August 7–9.
With the $2 million prize pool, this marks the largest Counter-Strike 2 championship in history and is anticipated to establish definitive Club Championship recognition. The event is further projected to draw elite talent, as the EWC 2026 commenced on July 6 and extends until August 23.
Beyond CS2, over 2,000 athletes from 200+ clubs and 100+ countries will compete across 24 games and 25 tournaments, vying for a total prize pool surpassing $75 million. The Esports World Cup 2026 underscores its vision as the ultimate spectacle for esports diplomacy and global competition.
