Ruoning Yin carded a final-hole chip-in to secure a one-shot advantage entering the final round of the LPGA Tour’s FM Championship, as European title aspirations faded in Boston. Yin’s eagle from just off the 18th green, combined with a 20-foot birdie putt on the par-three 16th, helped her post a four-under 68, positioning her at 12 under overall.
The five-time LPGA Tour victor holds a narrow lead over South Korea’s Sei Young Kim and Hyo Joo Kim, with Somi Lee and American Jenny Bae trailing by three strokes.
“My swing feels in good rhythm, and my putting is clicking,” Yin explained. “I’m focused on playing my game aggressively when the moment calls for it.”
This event marks the final LPGA Tour competition before the Solheim Cup, set to air live on Sky Sports from September 11-13. Team USA’s Lauren Coughlin, Allisen Corpuz, and Lindy Duncan all enter the final day at seven under.
Miyu Yamashita, the halfway co-leader, fell six strokes back after a 75, following her nine-stroke victory in Canada. England’s highest-ranked player, Lottie Woad, is sitting at five under after a third-round 70.

Maguire Makes Progress as Alexander Maintains Lead in Ireland
Casandra Alexander secured a three-shot edge into Sunday’s final round of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, as Leona Maguire impressed on home soil.
Alexander posted a three-under 69 under challenging rainy conditions at The K Club, moving to 18 under overall. Her round followed a 45-minute weather delay, and the South African now eyes her second Ladies European Tour title, with Sara Kouskova closing the gap after a bogey-free 67.
“It was tough through the rain and chaos,” Alexander said. “I had a few lip-outs, but leading into the final round feels great.”
Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall matched the week’s best round with a nine-under 63, vaulting to fourth place at 13 under. Maguire matched Arwefjall’s 63 to surge into a tie for sixth.

“I knew a low score was possible,” Maguire noted. “I didn’t improve dramatically, but making more putts and hitting approach shots closer helped.”
