The 2026 Formula 1 season marks the end of an era as the summer break comes to a close. Today, Aug. 23, features the final running of the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort, as the promoter decided not to renew the event hosting contract beyond this year.
F1 held a sprint weekend ahead of the main race. Mercedes’ George Russell won the sprint from pole position and will start today’s race in second place, just behind McLaren’s Lando Norris. Russell’s teammate, Kimi Antonelli, who currently leads the World Drivers Championship standings, will start from third on the grid.
