Former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi spoke publicly for the first time since leaving office in March 2025, asserting that the October 7 attacks constituted a “preventable failure” but emphasizing that there was no internal betrayal.
While speaking at a conference in New York, Halevi stressed that there was “100% no betrayal from within” the military ranks. He further advocated for completing a comprehensive investigation into the security lapses surrounding the massacre as a vital step toward national recovery and healing.
