Former TNA World Champion and movie enthusiast Frankie Kazarian has voiced his displeasure with the latest entry in the Halloween franchise, Halloween Ends. The film, which caps the trilogy that began in 2018, fails to win his approval largely because of its tight entanglement with the series’ iconic elements.
Kazarian contends that the movie’s primary flaw is its reliance on the established Halloween universe, focusing on Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. He suggests that the story could have been “passable” if it were detached from those characters and the town of Haddonfield.
He posted his thoughts on his X account yesterday, stating, “If Halloween Ends was a movie NOT about Michael Myers or Laurie and NOT set in Haddonfield, and NOT a Halloween movie at all, but a stand‑alone film about a killer, his effect on a random town and its people and the fallout, it would be passable. As it stands now I still hate it.”
Although criticized by fans and critics alike, Halloween Ends still proved profitable for Universal Pictures. The film raked in $64 million domestically and $104 million worldwide on a $30 million budget. Yet, it received a mixed reception from reviewers, scoring a 40 % rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
