Recent leaks surrounding Genshin Impact’s upcoming Version 7.0 have surfaced, offering an encouraging preview of the highly anticipated Snezhnaya region. HoYoverse’s acclaimed action RPG is presently delivering content from Version 6.7, the concluding major update of the Nod-Krai saga. Provided the development timeline holds, the Cryo nation of Snezhnaya will launch in August. As the next chapter approaches, a wave of character-related leaks has begun to circulate.

A fresh batch of leaks originating from data miner Jelena and circulated by Reddit user Ryuusei_Dragon showcases several figures slated for Snezhnaya. Many of the ordinary NPCs depicted appear to reuse character models from earlier regions, reskinned with Snezhnayan clothing. Jelena has posted additional common NPC designs elsewhere, yet further leaks imply an even broader assortment of inhabitants for the region.

The latest Snezhnaya teaser confirmed the inclusion of bear-like NPCs classified as Volkodlak Fae. The leaker now suggests more variants of this species are planned. A Reddit post by Knight_Steve_ displays multiple anthropomorphic NPCs belonging to the Volkodlak Fae, including designs reminiscent of oxen, foxes, and walruses.

Beyond these beast-like beings, the Tsaritsa-led nation will also host standard Fae NPCs. Unlike the animal-inspired Volkodlak, ordinary Fae appear far more humanoid. Models for these Fae, leaked by Jelena and reposted by astrelya on Reddit, diverge slightly from the generic commoner templates used across Teyvat, granting Snezhnaya a distinct visual identity.

Should these leaks materialize in Version 7.0, they would significantly broaden NPC diversity—a feature lacking in several prior regions. A long-standing criticism of the game is the repetitive appearance of NPCs across different areas. Although the new designs do not fully resolve this, as humanoid commoners remain uniform, they introduce welcome variety to Snezhnaya’s populace.

Snezhnaya is shaping up to be the most expansive and ambitious locale in Teyvat to date. While it may omit certain regional mechanics introduced in Natlan or Nod-Krai, it is poised to deliver a new gameplay genre alongside a pivotal narrative arc. If development proceeds without setbacks, players can expect Snezhnaya to arrive in Genshin Impact by mid-August.
