GoFundMe for Parents of Lindsay Clancy Surpasses $1.1 Million Following Mistrial Declaration

A GoFundMe campaign established to support Lindsay Clancy’s parents has successfully raised more than $1.1 million following the declaration of a mistrial in the highly publicized Massachusetts case involving the woman accused of fatally harming her three children.

The crowdfunding initiative, launched by Brandee Mulligan in August, aims to provide financial assistance to Mike and Paula Musgrove, Lindsay’s parents, who have made repeated trips and temporarily relocated from Connecticut to Massachusetts to remain close to their daughter throughout the legal proceedings. “Their lives have largely been put on hold while they’ve continued doing what parents do: showing up for their child during the unimaginable,” Mulligan wrote on the campaign page.

Initially targeting $1 million, the GoFundMe exceeded its goal within hours of the mistrial announcement earlier this week. Subsequently, Mulligan adjusted the fundraising target to $3 million, reflecting the extended nature of the case. “I’ve decided to raise the goal of this fundraiser since this process has been extended, so is the time Paula and Mike will remain away from their home, continuing to carry the costs that come with being there for their daughter every day,” she explained.

Mulligan emphasized the long-term impact of the family’s ordeal, noting that regardless of the trial’s eventual outcome, the parents will face ongoing personal and financial challenges. “At some point, the court proceedings will end. Mike and Paula will still have a life to return to. There will still be bills, a home, lost savings, and years of putting their own lives on hold while they stood beside their daughter,” she said. “More than anything, this fundraiser came from a very simple thought: What if thousands of strangers could help carry just one piece of this for them?”

As the case continues to generate public interest, several similar GoFundMe pages have emerged—both in support of and opposition to Clancy. Pages such as “Lindsay Clancy is an awful person!” and “Against the Musgrove Family Fund” reflect the polarizing nature of the story. GoFundMe confirmed to CT Insider that it is actively reviewing all campaigns linked to the case and will remove any that violate its terms of service.

As of press time, the pro-Musgrave GoFundMe had accumulated over $1.175 million, which includes a single donation of $5,000 from an anonymous contributor.
