Goldman Sachs has identified several promising stocks that offer robust upside, advising investors to look beyond the technology sector and market volatility. In a recent series of research notes, the Wall Street investment bank highlighted companies across travel, lodging, finance, and defense, including Expedia, Mastercard, Hyatt Hotels, Huntington Ingalls Industries, and Chime, as strong buy opportunities.
Huntington Ingalls Industries
The shipbuilder is operating at full capacity, according to analyst Noah Poponak. Following recent earnings, Poponak noted that Huntington Ingalls reported double-digit revenue growth, margins ahead of consensus and up year-over-year, and free cash flow ahead of expectations. With robust demand for ships, the analyst stated that the stock is too cheap to ignore. “We are Buy rated on the stock and it is on the Americas Conviction List,” Poponak said, encouraging clients to keep accumulating shares. Despite the strong outlook, the stock is down 15% this year.
Mastercard
Analyst Will Nance believes shares of the payment giant have significant room to run following a strong earnings report that beat on both the top and bottom lines. “Overall we walk away from the quarter with the core tenets of the MA bull case remaining intact,” Nance wrote, pointing to improved strength in Mastercard’s U.S. business. The analyst praised the company’s “premium growth profile” and its favorable positioning. With shares trading at a discount to historical levels and at parity with Visa, Nance remains positive on both the underlying structural momentum and the potential for multiple expansion over the next year. Mastercard shares are up 15% this year.
Hyatt Hotels
Shares of the lodging chain are up nearly 16% this year, but analyst Lizzie Dove sees further upside following the company’s latest financial results. While acknowledging some mixed details in the October 29 report, Dove wrote that they came away “incrementally positive, particularly on the setup into 2027.” Goldman Sachs raised its price target to $215 per share from $197, citing strong management execution and numerous growth levers. Dove highlighted long-term potential, particularly in accelerating trends across Mexico, Jamaica, and the Middle East for 2027, alongside attractive net room growth opportunities, maintaining a Buy rating on the stock.
Expedia
Expedia’s recent third-quarter earnings report demonstrated strong execution across both consumer and B2B segments, driving core operating metrics past street expectations and management guidance. Analysts noted that the B2B business remained a key growth driver, supported by continued partner expansion and ongoing investments in platform capabilities and trip breadth.
Chime
Chime reported strong financial results, modestly exceeding its previous intra-quarter pre-announcement and raising its full-year guidance. Analysts expect this positive momentum to continue into 2027, with rapidly expanding margins and transaction profit growing roughly twice as fast as user growth serving as key catalysts to drive the stock higher.
