The Grand Rapids Griffins have inked defenseman Marcus Crawford for the 2026‑27 AHL campaign.
During the 2025‑26 season, Crawford earned ECHL MVP, Outstanding Defenseman, and scoring champion honors after posting 14 goals, 72 assists, and 86 points with a +49 rating across 70 games for the Kansas City Mavericks. He added 14 points in 17 playoff contests as the Mavericks advanced to the Kelly Cup Finals.
Crawford, now entering his ninth professional season, debuted with Grand Rapids in 2018, appearing in eight games without scoring. He has since logged 350 ECHL games with Kansas City, Orlando, and Toledo, amassing 53 goals, 207 assists, and 260 points. His European stint included two seasons with Cardiff in the EIHL, where he notched 112 points in 108 games and earned back‑to‑back league top‑defenseman honors in 2022‑23 and 2023‑24.
