Hélène de Tissot has been appointed to the role of CFO at Chanel, arriving from the champagne and spirits giant Pernod Ricard. Her tenure at Pernod Ricard spanned 23 years, beginning in October 2002 as group tax director and culminating in her 2018 promotion to executive vice president of finance and IT.
With a background in law, de Tissot previously served as a senior international tax lawyer for nearly nine years at Arthur Andersen. Following the firm’s collapse in 2002, she transitioned to her long-standing career at Pernod Ricard.
Her appointment follows the announcement last week that Chanel’s long-serving CFO, Philippe Blondiaux, will retire later this year after 15 years in the position.
De Tissot joins the luxury house at a strategic turning point. After experiencing a downturn the previous year, Chanel successfully returned to sales growth in 2025.
For the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025, Chanel reported an operating profit of $4.71bn (£4.02bn), representing a 5% year-on-year increase from 2024, while revenues rose by 2% to $19.3bn (£16.29bn).
