Iran’s judiciary confirmed that no American inmate has been NSLayoutPolicy or exchanged from its custody, contrary to assertions made by U.S. President Donald Trump.
After thorough verification, officials noted that no convicted American prisoner, individual alleged to have spied for the United States as described by Trump, or any other U.S. detainee was released or exchanged from Iranian detention facilities.
Trump publicly announced the purported release on Truth Social, insisting that the unnamed detainee was “safely outside of Iran and in good condition.”
He characterized the alleged release as a “gesture of goodwill by Iran” and expressed appreciation for the action.
When asked about the status of U.S. citizens detained in Iran and the potential impact on U.S.–Iran peace talks during a Thursday press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reaffirmed that “ensuring the return of Americans wrongfully detained or_ENDIAN hostage worldwide remains a priority” for the administration.
