Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher predicts Arsenal’s title chances after Manchester City’s 3‑0 win at Anfield
Manchester City regained their three‑point advantage at the top of the table ahead of Arsenal with a decisive 3‑0 victory at Anfield. While they appear to be in a strong position, ongoing Premier League charges cast a shadow over their campaign.
Manchester City have been convicted of 115 breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations, prompting expectations of a points deduction that could seriously jeopardise their title ambitions.
In a recent Sky Sports appearance, the former Liverpool defender urged an early resolution to the investigation, arguing that the title race should not be prolonged without a clear outcome.
He further stated that Arsenal and Manchester City are markedly the superior sides, and that no other club is likely to mount a serious challenge for the championship this season.
“We need a resolution as soon as possible,” Carragher commented, “because we’re watching a game and not sure what it actually means going forward.”
“They’re the two best teams by a mile, we know that, and no one else is really going to compete with them for the title. We want every game to matter, but right now it doesn’t,” he added.
