Jay-Z has officially confirmed his performance at Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles.

“This journey from Reasonable Doubt to the Super Bowl Halftime stage spans thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “This run continues to be a dream come true.” The game is scheduled for February 14, 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The confirmation follows a report from Puck News indicating that Jay-Z decided to take on the performance himself after considering various options to succeed Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar. Since 2019, Jay-Z has played a key role in shaping the halftime show through Roc Nation’s ongoing co-production partnership with the NFL.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell praised Jay-Z’s influence on the league and supported the announcement in a separate statement. “For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve witnessed the remarkable impact he has made on the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” Goodell said. “When we first established our agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”

There’s no better time for Jay-Z to perform at one of the few major venues he hasn’t yet graced. The artist recently marked the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of his seminal 2001 LP The Blueprint, celebrating with various pop-ups, activations, and an HBO docuseries with Rick Rubin.

During this anniversary year, Jay-Z has been more active on stage than in recent years. Following his headline performance at the Roots Picnic in June, he headlined three nights at Yankee Stadium, featuring guest appearances by Eminem, Nas, Alicia Keys, his wife Beyoncé, and daughter Blue Ivy.

After the Yankee Stadium performances, Jay-Z traveled internationally for stadium shows in London and Paris, concluding the tour with a pair of shows at SoFi Stadium alongside Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Too Short.
