At the ATX TV Festival, Plemons and co‑star Stephanie Hunt (playing Devin Boland) reunited to perform “Devil’s Town,” a song originally recorded by Daniel Johnston and featured in the series. Hunt described the track as “one of the best songs ever” and highlighted how well it suited the band’s style.

Showrunner Jason Katims also took the opportunity to discuss the possibility of a series reboot, noting that any new iteration would carefully consider the legacy of the original work before moving forward.

In addition to his return to Friday Night Lights, Plemons is set to appear in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping, where he will portray Plutarch Heavensbee, a role originally played by Philip Seymour Hoffman.
