A year ago, the Jets were preparing to introduce an offensive line featuring a new center, a new right guard, and a rookie right tackle. Just days before the season opener, they suffered another season-ending injury to Alijah Vera‑Tucker, turning the first game into a trial run.
Today, the unit has matured into a possible cornerstone for New York, with four starters returning and newcomer Dylan Parham bringing 63 career NFL starts. Center Josh Myers told The Post that the group aims to be a unit of strength, adding, “If you asked any of us, that’s exactly what we’re striving for.”
Their first real test arrives in Week 1 against the Titans on Sunday, when the Jets must neutralize a Tennessee defensive front anchored by Jeffery Simmons, who recorded 11 sacks last season.
“He’s one of those players where you need flawless technique,” Myers said of Simmons. “Your stance, hand placement, and footwork must be precise—everything has to be spot‑on against a talent like him, because he’s truly exceptional.”
