Deontay Wilder defeated Derek Chisora on British soil earlier this year, but another British heavyweight, Johnny Fisher, is now putting himself forward for a fight with “The Bronze Bomber”.
Wilder made his UK debut in 2013, knocking out Audley Harrison in the opening round of the co-main event headlined by Amir Khan at Sheffield Arena.
After 13 years away, the Tuscaloosa-born knockout artist returned to England and secured a much-needed split-decision victory over Chisora in April.
Wilder has since been strongly linked with Oleksandr Usyk’s anticipated “farewell fight”, reportedly scheduled for March 2027. A victory over the Ukrainian champion would re-establish him as a serious contender for the heavyweight title.
However, speaking to Sky Sports, Fisher offered himself as an alternative and promised to attempt a knockout if given the opportunity to face the former WBC heavyweight champion.

“What do we think of Deontay Wilder? Listen, they [my fans] are not keen on Deontay Wilder, but I will say that he is an absolute legend of the game.
“He has had a fantastic trilogy with Tyson Fury. It’s an honour to be linked with someone who is that high up in the sport and it would be an honour to share the ring with him.
“But, make no bones about it. I would be going in there to take him out!”
Fisher is set to make his Zuffa Boxing debut on Saturday when he headlines at London’s Copper Box Arena against Belgium’s Michael Pirotton. The bout will feature at Zuffa’s inaugural event in the British capital.
