Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray ended his season-opening performance early Sunday, sustaining a significant impact to the head during the initial stages of play.
During the first quarter of Sunday afternoon’s matchup versus the Green Bay Packers, Murray lost the game instantly after being contacted in a pass‑scramble. The player remained grounded briefly after taking the hit from Packers safety Javon Bullard.
Following the collision, Murray was examined in the blue medical tent for a brief period. However, he proceeded directly to the locker room upon clearing and was subsequently ruled uneligible to continue the contest. He was capable of walking unaided prior to undergoing a concussion assessment.
Murray’s inaugural start with the team did not begin smoothly; his first offensive attempt resulted in an interception by Packers defensive back Keisean Nixon, handing Green Bay a 9–0 lead. Before the tackle, Murray achieved three of five completions for 18 yards, complemented by four rushing efforts totaling nine yards before sustaining the injury.
