The Lebanese Army stated on Saturday that Israel’s attacks in Lebanon are intended to thwart any effort to restore regional stability.
The statement, posted on X (formerly Twitter), emphasized that ongoing Israeli strikes are aimed at blocking any solution that could restore stability in Lebanon.
The post further accused the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) of conducting attacks throughout Lebanon earlier on Saturday, resulting in casualties and extensive property damage.
According to the Lebanese Army, a Lebanese soldier was among the fatalities.
Later on Saturday, a senior Hezbollah official told Reuters that the group will not permit Israel “freedom of movement” in what it calls “occupied Lebanese territory.”
On Saturday, Reuters reported that an Israeli military official said the IDF struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon after the group fired more than 50 projectiles at Israeli soldiers.
The official added that stability between Israel and Lebanon could be achieved if Hezbollah ceased violating the ceasefire.
At least ten people were killed Saturday morning in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese town of Arabsalim, according to Lebanon’s state news agency NNA.
Al Hadath, a Saudi channel, reported that additional targets included towns in the Al‑Nabatiya region and Mount Al‑Rihan in the Jazin region.
Al Hadath also reported another attack in the West Lebanon Valley, located in central Lebanon.
Reuters and Maariv contributed to this report.
