LSU linebacker Whit Weeks sustained a fracture in his lower right leg during Saturday’s victory over Texas A&M, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. The injury is not believed to be season-ending.
Weeks, a permanent team captain and 2024 first-team All-SEC selection, ranks second on the Tigers with 23 tackles this season. He has added 2.5 tackles for loss and three quarterback hurries. The junior missed five games last year due to a separate leg injury.
Following the game, head coach Lane Kiffin did not provide a specific timeline but acknowledged the severity of the moment. “Obviously it didn’t look good when he walked off,” Kiffin said. Weeks was later spotted on crutches wearing a protective boot.
With Weeks sidelined, LSU will turn to a depth group that includes Davhon Keys, Zach Weeks, Charles Ross II, Tylen Singleton, and Keylan Moses to fill the void at linebacker.
