Lucy Dacus is set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her landmark debut album, No Burden, with a special reissue arriving on December 4. Leading up to the milestone release, she has unveiled a previously unreleased track, “No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye.”
The upcoming 10th anniversary edition of No Burden will be released on December 4, pressed on a special seaglass vinyl. Preorders are currently open. The reissue highlights the enduring appeal of the album, which features beloved tracks such as “I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” and “Strange Torpedo.”
“No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye” was recorded with producer Adrian Olsen and Dacus’ guitarist Alan Good Parker. Long cherished as a hidden gem by her fans, the song has occasionally been performed live over the years. It features Good Parker’s signature fuzzed-out guitar accompanying Dacus’s poignant, raw vocals: “I swore to myself / I would not follow your lead / So why did I get in the car every evening?”
Following a busy summer touring across the United States and performing at major festivals—including Outside Lands and the Newport Folk Festival—Dacus is wrapping up her tour with a high-profile tribute to Cat Power. Alongside Cat Power and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, she will perform the legendary album The Greatest in its entirety on September 13 at the Hollywood Bowl.
Dacus’s most recent studio album, Forever Is a Feeling, was released last March. Earlier this year, she also released the track “Planting Tomatoes” as a Record Store Day exclusive 7-inch vinyl, which subsequently arrived on digital streaming platforms.
