Manchester United is reportedly keen on signing South Korean international defender Kim Min‑Jae from Bayern Munich ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to Christian Falk on CF Bayern Insider, the club has him “on the list,” though a switch to Juventus in Italy may appear more probable.
The 29‑year‑old struggled for consistent playing time with Germany’s champions last season, making just 25 appearances (1,605 minutes). At the peak of his career, he is eager for regular starts and believes a move to Manchester United could be enticing.
The Red Devils would benefit from strengthening their backline, especially after securing Champions League qualification for the next campaign. A deeper defensive squad could help them contend on multiple fronts in Europe and the Premier League.
Kim possesses the physicality and experience needed for English football, having demonstrated his quality in both Italy and Germany. He has already earned a reputation as a “very powerful” defender.
Securing him would represent a pivotal opportunity for the club and an attractive proposition for the player. Whether Manchester United will formalise an offer remains to be seen.
While Juventus is also pursuing him, the defender’s familiarity with Serie A—having previously played for Napoli—could facilitate a swift transition and immediate impact. The decision ultimately hinges on the financial heft and ambitious vision of the two clubs.
