Matt Hardy has addressed a long-standing misconception about his distinctive walking gait, revealing that fans have been misidentifying the source of his condition.
On his “Extreme Life” podcast, Hardy clarified that his hips and lower back—not his knees—are the actual cause of his unique walk. The veteran wrestler detailed how years of physical tolls, particularly from his signature leg drops, have led to chronic mobility issues.
The turning point came after his famous cage dive onto Edge at Unforgiven 2005, which left him limping for five to six weeks. His partnership with brother Jeff Hardy exacerbated the problem, as Matt would frequently execute leg drops nightly, followed by Jeff’s splash, placing continuous stress on his spine.
Adapted his approach, Hardy now incorporates an elbow strike to the back of the neck, protecting his longevity in the industry. Medical evaluations revealed significant scar tissue around his hips and lower back, plus naturally wider hip structures.
“Even sitting in my Corvette too long now requires stretching before I can walk normally again,” Hardy explained, emphasizing that decades of hard landings, not knee problems, account for his gait.
Jacob Fatu’s intense promos at The Dungeon often require Nattie Neidhart to make adjustments before sharing online due to explicit language.
During a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, Neidhart discussed Fatu’s rapid rise as her top student, noting his evolution from focusing solely on personal development to mentoring others in promo delivery, selling, and in-ring technique.
“His passion sometimes creates a small issue before anything goes online—it’s all about how emotional he gets when he’s fully locked in,” Neidhart explained, adding that the raw energy is precisely what distinguishes him.
She now considers Fatu family, viewing him as a brother rather than just a student, and emphasized that beneath every censored outburst lies genuine, authentic emotion.
