Scotland manager Sebastian Pocognoli has named a 26-player squad for the remaining Nations League fixtures against North Macedonia at home and Switzerland away, recalling Scott McTominay, Kieran Tierney and Che Adams.

James Penrice, 27, has earned his first Scotland call-up following impressive performances for Rangers on loan from AEK Athens, while Blackburn Rovers midfielder Kristi Montgomery, 22, retains his place after featuring in all but one Championship match this season.

The selection omits Scott McKenna and Kenny McLean through injury, while Lennon Miller, Josh Doig, Colby Donovan and James Wilson have been dropped from the group.

Pocognoli initially selected a 28-player pool for the first four matches, which included disappointing home defeats to Switzerland and Slovenia, but has streamlined the squad to 26 for these fixtures, maintaining four goalkeepers.

Scotland sit third in Group B1 and require a minimum of four points to keep alive their chance of finishing second and securing promotion play-off contention; a single point would suffice to avoid relegation.

Switzerland leads the group on maximum points, with Slovenia three points clear of Scotland.

Captain Andy Robertson is poised to surpass Sir Kenny Dalglish’s record of 102 caps if he features in both matches scheduled for November 13 and 16.

Napoli’s McTominay has scored four goals in seven appearances since recovering from a minor heart procedure, while Adams has doubled his Torino tally with two goals in five Serie A games following a brief adductor issue.
