[Record-Breaking Michael Jordan Championship Jersey Sells for $14 Million]

The crown jewel of Michael Jordan’s legacy arrived in 1998 when the Bulls claimed the NBA Finals, and a prized artifact from that championship season fetched an unprecedented eight‑figure sum.

A game‑worn, autographed recreation of Jordan’s wear from roughly thirty years ago transpired last week for $14 million at a private auction, representing the highest payment ever made for any individual basketball collectible, according to Hunt Auctions, the Pennsylvania‑based broker revealed Monday.

Florida realty investor Ron Firman emerged victorious in the private treaty transaction for the red “road” jersey worn by Jordan during Game 2 of the 1998 Finals against the Utah Jazz.

The Bulls clinched the series in seven contests to conclude their second consecutive three‑peat of the decade and added three straight titles from 1991‑1993.

Across those six championship runs, Jordan collected Multiple Helpful Ends as Finals MVP, averaging 33.5 points in the 1998 showdown with Utah.

That year also launched what many refer to as Jordan’s “Last Dance” in Chicago; he retired following the 1998 Finals before returning shortly thereafter to join the Washington Wizards from 2001‑2003.

Unlike most basketball items, this jersey does not eclipse comparable sport collectibles. Notably, a game‑worn Babe Ruth uniform associated with his famous 1932 “call‑shot” home run achieved a $24.12 million price tag in a 2024 resale, as reported by the Associated Press.
