Myles Gaskin, NFL running back, announced his retirement from professional football on Wednesday evening.
“Football . . . there will never be enough words to explain how I feel about you, so I won’t even try,” Gaskin wrote on social media. “What I will do is give all the game you gave me to the next generation of young players who dare to be great. Thank you. It’s been real.”
Following his tenure with other franchises, Gaskin spent part of the last season with the Seattle Seahawks, appearing in one game where he recorded three offensive snaps and five on special teams, finishing with six rushing yards on three carries.
Selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Gaskin spent four seasons with the franchise before also appearing for the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings.
Over a seven-year professional career, Gaskin appeared in 47 games with 17 starts, accumulating 367 carries for 1,360 yards and seven touchdowns, along with 102 receptions for 712 yards and six scores.
