Natalya Expands Her WWE Role Beyond Wrestling: Pursuing Writing, Directing, and Production

Natalya states her intention to broaden her involvement in WWE beyond in‑ring competition, aiming to pursue roles in writing, directing, creation, and production.

Having enjoyed a nearly two‑decade career in WWE, Natalya has achieved numerous accomplishments, including multiple women’s championships and a reputation for elevating emerging talent. Outside the ring, she and her husband, Tyson Kidd, operate a private training facility known as the Dungeon. She has also expanded into mixed martial arts, competing under her former WWE moniker, Nattie.

In an interview with Soundsphere Magazine, Natalya explained that she seeks to contribute behind the camera while remaining active in the ring, recalling Ray’s question about why she continues to feel the need to prove herself despite years of paying her dues.

“Bully Ray, Bubba Dudley, he said to me, ‘Nattie, you’ve already paid your dues, why do you keep paying them?’ and I’m like, ‘because the rent’s always due’. There’s never going to be a moment as long as I’m actively wrestling that I’m not going to be paying my dues.”

She noted that she will collaborate with both female and male talent, craft promos, and assist in shaping WWE storylines.

“I don’t want to just be a wrestler in WWE, I want to be everything. I want to be behind the camera. I want to be working with the girls, I want to be working with the guys. I want to be writing promos, directing, creating, producing. I see myself building stories far, far, far beyond what I’m doing in the ring.”
