New model maintains traditional OTC market access with added direct clearing option
NatWest has expanded its foreign exchange prime brokerage model to enable central clearing for the client side of non‑deliverable forwards (NDFs) and FX options, addressing rising capital and margin pressures faced by regional banks.
The new framework gives local‑currency banks greater flexibility to clear their trades directly through LCH ForexClear, while still preserving key advantages of prime brokerage relationships, including access to a broad liquidity pool.
