Nintendo’s flagship Switch 2 experienced a steep drop in sales during the fiscal second quarter, following price increases rolled out by the Japanese gaming company as memory costs surged.
The company said it sold 2.67 million units of the Switch 2 in the three months ended September 30, down 41% from the same period last year. That figure also fell below the 3.82 million units sold in the prior quarter.
During the quarter, Nintendo raised prices for the Switch 2 in the United States, Canada, and Japan, after having already increased the device’s cost in Japan earlier in the year.
