Olivia Rodrigo enlisted fellow pop star Chappell Roan to remix “Expectations,” a highlight from her latest album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. The collaboration extends to the music video, where the two artists playfully compete on a gameshow hosted by David Byrne, a noted admirer of Rodrigo’s work. Producer Dan Nigro also makes a cameo in the whimsical video. Watch it below.

Rodrigo is currently touring on the Unraveled Tour in support of her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. The record builds on the success of her 2023 hit Guts, showcasing greater musical and live performance ambitions. Highlights include tracks like “The Cure,” “Serena Joy,” and a duet with Robert Smith titled “What’s Wrong With Me.” Rodrigo also expanded her live impact by organizing Daisy Chain Fields, an inaugural charity music festival celebrating womanhood with an all-star lineup. Roan, who released her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in 2023, saw a meteoric rise in popularity over the following year, largely fueled by her energetic live shows opening for Rodrigo and viral festival appearances. After winning Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards, she released “The Giver,” her first new single since the album, followed months later by “The Subway,” which secured two Grammy nominations at the most recent ceremony.
