Perth Scorchers Secure Signature Spin Bowler Calvin Harrison for Upcoming Big Bash Campaign

Perth Scorchers have signed English right-arm leg-spinner Calvin Harrison for the 2026-27 Big Bash League season.

Harrison joins the side following a standout 2026 domestic season, playing a pivotal role in Northamptonshire’s T20 Blast triumph. He claimed 22 wickets at 15.27, including a career-best 5-9 against Essex. His performances with the Trent Rockets in The Hundred further solidified his reputation, where he took 10 wickets at 19.70 and delivered 2-30 in the final against Manchester Super Giants under Head Coach Adam Voges.

In addition to his bowling accolades, Harrison earned an England Lions call-up for fixtures against Pakistan Shaheens in the UAE earlier in 2026. His familiarity with Australian conditions, gained during a four-month stint with Camberwell Magpies in the Victorian Premier Cricket competition in 2024-25, also adds value to his profile.

Harrison’s bowling expertise strengthens Scorchers’ attack

The leg-spinner provides a distinct spin variation to complement the left-arm orthodox styles of Ashton Agar and Cooper Connolly. His consistent wicket-taking form in T20 and The Hundred underscores his ability to perform under pressure. Harrison also contributes with the bat, boasting three first-class centuries from 41 matches.
