India have suffered a setback ahead of the third and final ODI against West Indies, with fast bowler Prasidh Krishna ruled out of the series finale. The pacer sustained a hamstring injury during the second ODI in Guwahati, where he delivered five overs and claimed the wicket of Keacy Carty before leaving the field in the 31st over. Krishna has since returned to Bengaluru for further assessment and will miss the decider in New Chandigarh, while also casting doubt over his availability for the opening round of the Ranji Trophy beginning October 11.

Prasidh Krishna Ruled Out of Series Finale

The injury comes after a high-scoring encounter in Guwahati, where West Indies posted a formidable 405/7 before India chased down the target in 43.3 overs. With Krishna unavailable, the team management must reshuffle its bowling attack for the final match of the series.

Anshul Kamboj Called Up as Replacement

India has drafted Anshul Kamboj into the squad as Krishna’s replacement. The 25-year-old right-arm seamer was withdrawn from India A’s four-day fixture against Australia A in Puducherry to link up with the senior side in New Chandigarh. While Kamboj is yet to debut in ODI cricket, he brings substantial List A experience, having claimed 56 wickets in 35 matches at an average of 22.41. He previously earned a Test cap during India’s tour of England last year and will now vie for an ODI debut should he be named in the playing XI.

India’s pace resources for the fixture also include Mohammed Siraj, Auqib Nabi, and Gurnoor Brar, with Jasprit Bumrah currently occupied with Asian Games duties in Japan.
