Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, announced the launch of military operations to recapture territories remaining under Houthi control. Speaking at the outset of the operation, Al-Alimi described the move as a decisive phase in the nation’s history, emphasizing that the state had made significant sacrifices in pursuing peace.
The operations aim to restore security, rights, and dignity to citizens living in areas held by the Houthis, explicitly stating that these citizens are not targets of the military action. Al-Alimi urged residents in militia-controlled zones to avoid Houthi gathering places and to protect their children from recruitment into the conflict.
“The military operations we are about to launch are not a war against our people in Sana’a, Hodeidah, and Saada,” Al-Alimi clarified. “They are not a war against any sect or tribe.” He added that every city reclaimed by the state would transition into a phase of stability, recovery, and reconstruction, with the battle’s success measured by the number of citizens who regain a sense of security.
Al-Alimi called on Yemen’s international partners to stand by the country during this phase, reaffirming that Saudi Arabia remains a true partner in Yemen’s shared destiny and security. The leadership expressed deep gratitude to Saudi Arabia’s leadership and people for their continued support.
