Vice Admiral Peter Hudson, vice chairman of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, expressed his honor in the organization’s successful delivery of the project and extended gratitude for Princess Anne’s attendance.
“In the cemetery surrounding us, nearly 5,000 German and Austrian soldiers are laid to rest, while the adjacent cemetery holds another 350 personnel,” he stated.
“This is a profoundly special site of shared commemoration, offering a place for everyone to reflect on the individuals who sacrificed their lives during the monumental struggles of the past century.”
