Qatar, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Muslim World League (MWL) denounced the missile strikes carried out by Yemen’s Houthi forces on Thursday against the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu, reiterating their backing for the Kingdom’s security and stability.
In a Friday statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs labeled the attacks a reprehensible act of aggression that blatantly ignored civilian safety, infringed upon Saudi sovereignty, and violated international law, urging an immediate cessation of such provocations.
The Muslim World League (MWL), in a statement released by its Secretary-General, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, renewed its condemnation of these terrorist assaults, which run counter to religious teachings and breach international and humanitarian standards. The strikes underscore the militia’s pattern of deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi also voiced strong condemnation of the Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia, reaffirming the GCC’s unwavering support for the Kingdom and all actions it undertakes to protect its sovereignty, security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
